Column II

This piece is 5' tall on an 18" square base. It is the "yan" to the "yin" in COLUMN I. I always conceived of these pieces as a pair. One would be white, deathlike, with the seeming absence of color, and the other would be vibrant and colorful. COLUMN II is made of natural forms that I drew and stenciled: nematodes, fish, lizards, as well as more derivative deco designs. The images are painted with acrylic on gessoed cardboard and wood.
