This piece, 54" x 63" x 19," started with the pennies -- I had a ton of them. Next, still not knowing what I was going to do with the pennies, I wanted to see what color looked good with them. I often get inspired first from color, then from form. I literally placed a few pennies on hundreds of Pantone color swatches to see what I liked. Then, months passed before I decided to take this old oak cabinet and transform it. I attempted to create a language and secret message on the doors. Can you figure it out? The message will remain secret as will the location of the single dime hiding among the pennies.
